Buddy is my fox red Labrador, best friend, and the heart behind this brand. He is the first to try every formula, the face you see in our story, and the reason I care so deeply about what goes onto a dog’s skin.

EVERY JOURNEY HAS A BEGINNING
chapter 1 - the awakening
I rinsed the last of the shampoo from Buddy’s coat until the water ran clear. He looked up at me, calm and trusting, but something wasn’t right. His skin was still dry and itchy.
When I read the label closely for the first time, I found harsh synthetics, artificial fragrance, and chemicals I couldn’t pronounce.
Later that day, we headed out on an adventure. Watching Buddy sniff the air and splash in the river, the thought stayed with me. He thrived in nature, yet I’d been washing him in formulas far from it.
That’s when I realised genuine care means choosing ingredients that honour nature and protect the world our dogs love to explore.
That evening, I began researching the ingredients and the industry behind them. I discovered the dog grooming market has very little regulation.
Products can be sold without the same safety testing, ingredient checks, or proof of claims required for human cosmetics.
Looking at Buddy asleep beside me, I knew that had to change.
chapter 2 - BATHTIME RE-IMAGINED
That’s where the idea of a ritual began. I reimagined honest care as products inspired by nature, grounded in science, and crafted with purpose.
I wanted bath time to feel meaningful, a calm moment that strengthens the bond we share with our dogs.
When development began, my focus was creating formulas with the same care and quality I’d expect for myself. Every Fido & Oak formula is plant-based, cruelty-free, vegan, palm oil free, and safe for aquatic life.
We then went one step further, securing Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSR) to match human cosmetic testing standards.
Once Buddy began using the products, the difference was clear. His coat looked healthy, his skin was calm, and he could finally relax after a bath.
That transformation proved this mission mattered and Fido & Oak could make a real difference.
